Hey John, You just might want to start a new company and get on the GSA Schedule and solicit directly to the Government. I was the primary contractor for Sprint, when they turned over everything to BlackBox. I waited a year and got on the list and will be putting my bids in this month. Didn't you retire once already? I have a few years left and want to turn it all over to my son. Just search "getting on the GSA schedule" for more info.

On the Govt Contract I am on, Avaya has their own team of field engineers doing installs all across the US. They also sub some work to General Dynamics and some to Blackbox.
John,
The Postal Service has national contracts with Sprint for Nortel systems (they sub to Black Box for on-site work) and spscom for Avaya/Partner key systems.
