We have a CS1000 Release 6.0 and sometimes have trouble getting into Element Manager. We can always log in to UCM just fine, then clicking the link on the Elements screen to launch Element Manager ("Element Manager on cs1000ss1(Primary Server)") always takes forever. Usually Element Manager loads after about a minute, but sometimes we get an error dialog:

"Error: Key tag missing in the XML file! (H1002)"

Clicking OK to that results in another error:
HTTP Status 404 - /emWeb_6_0/context/undefinedcontext/doc/dcitemsundefined

type Status report

message /emWeb_6_0/context/undefinedcontext/doc/dcitemsundefined

description The requested resource (/emWeb_6_0/context/undefinedcontext/doc/dcitemsundefined) is not available.

JBossWeb/2.0.0.GA

After receiving this error, backing up to the Elements screen and clicking the link again usually will launch EM, but sometimes that has to be repeated once or twice to get it to load.

Our support vendor opened a ticket with Nortel, but apparently they were unable to reproduce the error.

Has anyone seen this, and better yet, found a solution? I'm not sure if the slow launch time is related, or if EM is always just that slow to start.

Thanks for any help/insight you might have!

Yup. super slow and had the same errors. had latest greatest patches.

Try to download the CERT from the UCM screen to the PC and install it, if you have not done that yet.

Have not sat around to troubleshoot it yet.....

I'll try installing the cert to see if that makes a difference and post back. Thanks for the suggestion.

A 404 error is often returned when pages have been moved or deleted.

Sounds to me that it is looking for a specific XML filepath - can you try to browse to that destination on the server? Have you done any work recently that may have accidentally removed it? Or Element Manager is fast and has no errors. I would also recommend that you don't use IE8 if you happen to be doing so.

I have had the same problem, try installing the latest service pack from the Nortel website. The file is called, Service_Pack_Linux_6.00_18_20100608.ntl

This worked for me
