CS can't change stroke if non-stroke object is selected in a group? 1

In Illus.9, I could select several objects, both stroked and non-stroked, and when I change the stroke value or color it would only affect the items with a stroke.

Is CS, nothing happens when I try that. If I select a circle with a stroke and a circle without a stroke and then try to change the stroke value or color, it doesn't do anything. It looks like now in CS you can't have any non-stroked objects selected while you're playing with strokes? This seems more that a little counter-productive, as in Illus.9 you could select an entire illustration, even the paths without strokes, and make a change which would affect the stroked paths and ignore the non-stroked ones.

Now I'm supposed to go in and select each object.path manually, in order to make stroke changes?? Or am I missing some way of doing this?

Thanks,

Create a hotkey for selecting same colour/stroke command it saves loads of time.

There is multiple stroke & fills you can apply to an object now in CS and 10 (appearance tab that lets you move the fill to the back as well by dragging the stroke below the fill in that appearance window) so maybe the grouping changing strokes doesn't work because of that.

If you haven't discovered it yet, under the Select Menu there's an option to Select Same... You can choose Same Stroke Weight, etc and change everything with the same characteristics at the same time, without having to select the non-stroked objects. (I think that's what operamatic is talking about, which you can make into a hotkey.)

Oh ok, I'll take a look at both those suggestions when I have time today. Hopefully that's what I'm looking for, as not having that technique available really hinders my particular illustrative process.

Thanks guys, I'll let you know how it goes..
