I have crystal reports that are displayed in PDF or Excel format from the web application. The reports are displaying, my only problem is in Excel, I keep getting fixed width columns when exporting the report. On my localhost it works (variable width columns, very esy to use), I move my product to the Windows 2003 server, and the export becomes fixed width (same size columns, very difficult to modify).

We are using Crystal Reports 10

I have found that Crystal 10 only has 2 Excel export options, one that does a formatted word type doc, which sounds like what you are using, and a very basic simple data only excel export.

Crystal 11 has greatly expanded standard excel format and data only excel exports with many optional flags to help get the kind of output you need, so that is something you might look into.

I am trying to aply the Service pack 5 for CR10 that may solve this Excell issue, I may need to play wth some regestry value settings for this particular issue as per SP5 pdf istructions.....So I hope it will solve the problem. If not you will hear from me again. I am kind of depending on Server support team to instal the SP5....slooooooow process it is....:)

Good Luck on your service pack fix. I know of another company I recently worked for on a contract that got a sfix for their CR10 excel export probs by applying a service pack / patch.
