Has anyone played with Crystal and Windows 7 yet?
I have downloaded the Oracle 10 client to my computer. I can connect to the database just fine using toad, or sqlplus or OEM. So I see the db. But something is not right with crystal.
Someone suggested I download the 32 bit version of oracle because then I'd have the 32 bit drivers, which I do have for oracle and they said Crystal uses 32 bit. I get a bunch of oracle errors everytime I try to connect with Crystal though. I can give the errors if that helps anyone.
Suggestions? Trying to download a 64 bit version of oracle causes all these installer issues that I don't get on the 32 bit install. Does crystal need something else to talk to the data other than the 32bit drivers? Anything that might be able to help me would be great. I'm loving windows 7 in general, this is my final piece! Thanks!
Amanda

Hi,
Are you using a 64bit version of Windows 7?

Anyway, if Crystal is installed AFTER the Oracle client, and you insure that the Crystal Installer options include support for Oracle, then the native Oracle connection should show in Crystal under 'Oracle Server', no additional drivers should be needed if Oracle is working like you state..

I am using Windows 7 64 bit. I did install the client first. This version of Crystal has always worked, but it's always been with 32 bit OS, not a 64 bit.
Most of the posts I had read before said that if I ran a x86 oracle and then installed crystal that I should be able to get them to talk but haven't figured that out. So I'm trying to see if maybe I have to go to a newer release of Crystal perhaps.

Do you know of anyone that has gotten them to work on a 64 bit os?
