I have a report which was written in crystal 8.5. When i open it in 8.5, i can do Show SQL and modify the sql and save it. But when i export the report to XI, i am not able to modify the sql.I can do Show SQL but not modify. Any help?

Thanks

I've no idea why you have this problem - we went from 8.5 to 10 with SQL used and without difficultures. But as a work-round you could do the following:

a) Use cut-and-paste to copy the SQL from the 8.5 version and save it as a text file.

b) Remove the SQL from 8.5.

c) Upgrade the report without SQL by re-opening and saving.

d) Re-add the SQL.

In XI, the Show SQL Query cannot modify, but you can instead use a command as your datasource (blank report->your datasource->add command (at the top of the list of tables). Here you can create a SQL query directly to be used for the report. If you don't want to start from scratch, you can create a report the usual way and then copy the query from the Show SQL Query area and paste that into the command area of a new report. You can then modify it further.

I don't see Add Command in my list anywhere. My source is Sybase.

I'm not familiar with Sybase. If it is available, the "Add Command" feature would be above your table list for your datasource when you first open a new report.
