Can anyone provide any advice on Crystal Reports Smart Reporting for the web? I'm interested in how long you've been using it, performance, and your general experiences with the tool. I understand some ASP knowledge is required, and the classroom training expects some prior knowledge. Any help would be much appreciated!

I think that you're referring to RAS, which is an add on for Crystal Enterprise 8.5

It's a fairly limited, immature product, but the theory is strong, and places Crystal into a new league in terms of user interaction.

I don't see a requirement for ASP. CE uses CSP, which is similar, and you can use ASP.

If you just want to empower users to add/delete fields, change grouping/sortation, then it's a nice $olution.

It has plenty of nuisances, like the common limitation of NOT allowing for dynamic picklists.

I fear Crystal will never figure that out...

Let's hear how you implement!

Thanks. That gives me some more information about the product. Crystal Enterprise is one product that we're considering. I'm trying to visualize the big picture, and see how the products are related, and what resources we'll need.
