Hopefully I can explain this so you understand what I am trying to do.

I am working on a patient billing report.
My issue is that a patient can have a procedure done 2-3-4 times.

It will look like this if I don't distinct:

procedure 1: Quantity: 1
procedure 1: Quantity: 1
procedure 1: Quantity: 1

I need the result to look like this:

procedure 1: Quantity 3

I have the billing data all on one detail page pr. procedure, so when the procedure number changes, it shows on next page, along with all patient demographics etc. I just don't need 3 pages for a procedure done 3 times, when I can count it and put the count on one page. I just don't know how.

How can this be done?

Appreciate any assistance.

Do you know about running totals? Are you grouping by procedure?
If you know running totals (RT), then you can create a running total that counts a field (procedure code), then resets at the group level (if you are grouping by procedure).

I hope this helps.

Haven't used RTotals's before, but there has to be a first:

Created a running total field with:
Field To Summarize: quantity
Type Of Summary: Count
Evaluate: On Change of Group (grouped by procedure Code)
Reset: On Change of Group (same group)

Still get only 1 for count on each page. Not sure if the placement of the group matters. It's currently in a GH.

I bet I don't have the RT field set up right....

Do you mean the placement of the RT? I think you would need in the GF.
