Crystal Reports into Crystal Enterprise

Hi

I have a report which has centre numbers 202, 203 etc it is stored on the Db as an int.

The report uses a parameter allowing the users to select from a dropdown list on centre number. This works great inside Crystal Reports 8.5 but when saving to Crystal Enterprise Version 8.5 the centre number format changes to 202.00, 203.00 etc.

I could string the numbers but then would loose the ability to have a dropdown picklist which I need!!!

Any ideas on how to stop this. I have checked the options within CR and have set the default for the number to 202 but this has not helped!!!

Since you're using a drop-down pick list, keep the values as Integers. Next, add a text description for each pick list value. Lastly, select the option to display the description, not the value, and order by description. This way, the user will see '202' only, not '202.00'. When they select the text description from the list, the correct integer will be passed to the db.

Thanks Kurt But (theres always a but) I am already using the description for the centre name so I cannot do as you suggested. Any other ways around the problem other than that.

Hi,

Sounds like the Regional Options for numbers are set differently on the machine you have Crystal Reports and the machine you have Crystal Enterprise. You may have to change the regional options so they are the same on both machines. What you have to watch out for is that this will affect all applications and not just Crystal Enterprise.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional Options > Numbers Tab.
Check to see if what you have set here is different on the two machines.
