If I want be able to create reports, publish them to the web, and have people run them online what do I need? Is there a reports web server, or do I just need the Developer version of Crystal in order to get the Active X reports viewer?

Does this make sense? I'm looking for a way for people to run reports, but not have Crystal installed on their local machine.

I probably should have specified this part earlier, but I need to do it for CR8.5 and possibly CR9. If I could just move to a new product, that would rock, but the application that I'm reporting against currently only supports CR8.5. They said that they're testing it with CR9 now. Isn't there an activeX viewer that I use?

Thanks for the info, and sorry I wasn't specific enough.

There is a Crystal Enterprise for Version 8 and one for version 9. Whatever version of report you have, you need to use the save version of Enterprise.

There is also to run report through a web page, but I don't know what the requirements for that are.

An alternative to accomplish this is to develop or purchase one of the 3rd-party viewers (see list at:

view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

I used to use Crystal Reports years ago as a user, but just bought v10 Prof edition. Did I read that right that this version contains what I need to distribute reports to users?

I checked the CD and help files and it talks about RAS, but can't find the Crystal Standard or Enterprise Express.

No such thing as a simple plug in or view that comes with Crystal? Have to build your own or buy a third party viewer?
