Crystal Reports Date Question

I am currently using Crystal Reports 9, and need to use a Date Function, but have no idea how to get started. In my reports, I currently have to manually change the date every new year, and would like to automate this to update on its own. What type of function could I use to just have the year printed out? Any type of help would be great! Thanks

Try: year(currentdate)

Yes, that worked, but it returned the Date as 2,003%. I need it to just say 2003. How can this be done? Thanks for your help!!!

Right click it and select format field and set the fomat of the number to -1123.
