Hello all,
I hope you can help me as i am at my wits end.
I am trying to install Crystal reports on a computer that has Oracle 8i client installed.
No matter what i do i cannot get the Oracle Native drivers to install.
Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it?

Thanks for any help

I will have to dig up the registry settings from our knowledgebase. In the meantime, please check that the following...

1.) These files exist -

c:\winnt\crystal\p2sora7.dll
c:\winnt\crystal\p2sora7.dll

c:\WINT\system32\p2sora7.dll
c:\WINT\system32\p2sora7.dll

2.)Run the ODBC manager (logged in as the USER who would be running Crystal Reports via Terminal Services) to see if the Crystal Oracle drivers are available as SYSTEM DSNs.

3.) If they are available, then use the ODBC manager to test the connection.

4.) List all the DLLs that start with CROR on your C:\WINT\system32 directory. Those are the Crystal Oracle drivers.

5.) Login to the Computer as a local Administrator and run Crystal - see if the ORACLE Drivers reappear in the Data Source list.

Hi,
Those drivers are the ODBC drivers...Admittedly if you can get a good ODBC connection to Oracle then the Oracle client is correctly installed and CR should see it..It does not use those Crystal Drivers for the Native Connection ( the one under 'more data sources- Oracle Server')but connects directly to the Oracle SqlNet DLLs...
