Crystal report Viewer - how do I know which one 1

is being used? I am using Crystal 10 and CE 10. In the preferences of CMC I selected Activex viewer. When I execute the report through a web browser, it shows 'Crystal report Viewer'. The look and feel is not the same as Activex viewer with Crystal Enterprise 8.5.

I will have to reimport all the files in the repository again. And change settings for each one. What 'dll' are you 'll referring. I can unregister and register again...

I don't mind uninstalling but what about my report id's etc I will have to do all that again..

Hi,

This is how I would deal with your dilemma.
(Assuming your current production machine is dedicated to CE)

Get your hands on a high powered PC. One that meets the minimum specs for CE 10 and has enough hard disk space to store your file repositories.

Install CE 10 on this box and import all users, groups, reports, from your problem machine using the import wizard.

Rebuild the production box and import back from the PC.

Or.. you can spend hours, days, weeks, months, chasing ghosts......

Thank you- I agree. I just installed CE on another machine which is not high powered but has the minimum configuration. I will export the obejcts there and then reinstall and reimport. I used a guest login there and was able to login to the user launchpad(at last!). So that is cool. Now I have to find that elusive setting to setthe client viewer as Activex. IF I want to code the viewer as Activex, how do I code that?

I got anotehr machine and reinstalled and managed to reach the user launchpad!!!!!!!!! Yipee!! It worked... Here's the catch. When I view the report in the console it uses Activex viewer. Using my HTML it still shows the Crystal Report viewer.. How do I change that?

I got it!!! U add init=actx in the url parameters are you are set! for eg.

href="/MBRSVCDEV/crystal/enterprise10/admin/en/viewrpt.cwr?id=489&init=actx"

I know thread has been solved but just in case some one has the same problem you can do this without re-installing the OS.

Had the same problem but reinstalling with a clean OS wasn't an option.

I simply uninstalled CE, CR and MSDE. Afterwards I manually went into the program files and deleted everything from the top level down from the program files/crystal decisions folder. I also deleted the folder in the program files/common files/crystal decisions folder.

This time when I reinstalled I stopped getting that error and my dhtml viewer worked.
