I am trying to create a crystal report using an access database. When I try to use crystal to connect to the .mdb file, I am getting an IDAPI error. How should I do this?

Thankjs!!

How are you trying to connect to the Access database?

What version of Crystal, and what version of Access?

If you're using the Database Files within the Data Explorer to point at the table, your versions might be incompatible, so try setting up an ODBC connection instead and use that.

If that fails, please try posting technical information.

It's crystal 7, Access(97)? NOt sure which version of Access but I can open the tables in Ofice 97.

Typically, I open a new report, choose the custom option, then some of the options.

Which OBDC connection should I try using? I']ve tried Fox Pro...

If it's an Access database, use the MS Access ODBC driver.

Access doesn't store data in DBF (fox) format, it has it's own, even if you're linking to Fox tables from within the Access database.

I do not see the MS Access ODBC driver option. Do I need to download it?
