Using Crystal 10. Have some reports written by someone else. I made changes to these reports. Now the reports keep pointing to old datasource even though I set data source location to a new server and database. I tried verify database plus every other possible things. Still keep pointing to old data source. I don't want to completely re-map all the fields using a new connection as it will be time consuming.

Stored procs are being used as datasource.

Please Help

Hi Sumeet22,

Can you try this :

Go to Database -> Set Datasource location.

Under the database, expand the PROPERTIES and see what the location is. Check the same for the procedure also.

Thanks for the tip, however, I did that already. Everything looks perfect. I even logged off of the current connections and history connections. Reconnected to new data source, did verify database, refresh and bla bla. Still have same prob.

Don't know what's going on. I realized it was pointing to a wrong data source when I clicked on Show SQL query, it showed old database name instead of the new one

Have a look at this whitepaper:

Try setting the 'Overridden Qualified Table Name' property to the name of the procedure, then try a 'Show SQL Query' to see if it's gone.

And just to clarify, when you went to 'Set Datasource Location', did you use the bottom window ('Replace with') to navigate to the 'new' datasource, then clicked 'Update'?

Hi,
Crystal may not change the name you see in ShowSql , use the properties of the connection object to see the actual datasource.

Again Looked at the Set Data Location. This time typed the proc name on the 'Overridden Qualified Table Name' field and that worked !

Thanks friends.
