Hi,people!
I began to create reports(CR9.2) 8 months ago based on Oracle8 db.
The database is very complicated and I decided to create simple views for easer solving business tasks. Now I have 25 views for about 50 reports and each of report has at least 8 parameters. Some of them run slowly. I think if I'll create one or two big views for all my reports (using all my 25 views) that will increase performance and will be more professional.
I would be really appreciated to get the answer what better solution in this situation.
Thanks,

Lana

It is dependent upon many factors, and you should consult with your dba for assistance.

Indexing plays a key role, as does other factors, such as key fields. There isn't a generic statement that applies.

Sometimes a View can trip up the optimizer, so you need to redesign or supply "hints".

Databases aren't so simple to optimize, and most use tools to assist in this.

Another thing to always test for during the report design is the Database->Show SQL Query to make sure that all filtering is being passed to the database.

Thanks for answer and
I checked Show Query for all filters and remarked that one of them didn't pass to the database(but it was created how all other parameters)
Do you know why it happen?
Thanks for help,

Lana

Post what's in the record selection formula, and what's in the Database show sql query.

Does anyone know how to get the last day of a month in Crystal 8.5? I have a date field and I need to get a percentage using the amount of days in a given month. Thanks!
