I'm looking for some software that can automatically run reports and export them either to a folder or send them by email. For example, I have a report that is run daily and takes about 30 mins to run and export. Instead of the user logging into Crystal and doing this all themselves, I'd like it to be done automatically every day (or for whatever interval I want).

So far I've tried:

Christian Steven's CRD but have had a lot of problems in testing and it just doesn't seem user friendly.

Once I finish that trial or get fed up with it, I'm going to try remiCrystal in hopes that it works out and is easier to use.

I've also read about something that's built into Crystal Reports that can do this but either it didn't come with our version or I don't know where to find it. I'm using CR XI.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for software that would do this (or if it is already included in Crystal Reports)?

Thanks in advance.

We use the Crystal Report Enterprise that comes with Crystal Reports Server. I create a report and upload into the Enterprise and using the Infoview module there I can schedule the report to run during the night and be emailed out to various individuals or groups as a crystal report, pdf, word, etc. I can also schedule it to print to a particular printer or save to a folder on the network. It took us a while to learn the ins and outs but we do about 60 automated reports sent out with various messages and saves us a ton of time.

We keep a duplicate folder on our network with only IT/IS access so we can edit if we need to and re-upload to the Server and the automation continues as scheduled.
