Crystal Offline Viewer Errors

Hello,

I have just installed Crystal Enterprise 10 Offline Viewer on a PC that does not have Crystal Reports 10 installed and it does'nt seem to work (It works fine on PC's with Crystal installed). The install complete's ok but when I try to open a report I get errors.
Error 1 :- Failed to open document
Error 2 :- Failed to load Database Information
Error 3 :- Failed to load database information. Details :- Failed to create COM object "MetaDataService". Please make sure business views are properly installed.

I am saving the Crystal Reports 10 report and disconnecting the business view as I need the report to be opened by an external customer.
Have you any idea what may be causing these errors? Is it a .dLL issue? Any help would be appreciated. Many Thanks

It might be worth checking the config file for the report viewer as this might need to be updated to hold the new database/ODBC information. I know i've had to do this previously.

Thanks, but i'm not sure where I find the config file for the viewer. Can you help?

I've just tried again, I installed the offline viewer on a PC and again I got errors when trying to open. I then installed Crystal Reports 10 and then tried to open a report using the offline viewer and it worked fine. I then removed crystal reports 10 from the PC and the Offline viewer goes back to errors. Very frustrating. Any other ideas?

The Off-line Viewer is only for viewing successful report instances generated in CE.
You cannot connect to a database and re-run the report.
It will only open Crystal Reports with Saved Data. (i.e. a Successful report instance)
