I'm trying to determine what kind of license my client needs to get when he buys Crystal Reports. He will be accessing reports from a VB appication and also from Active Server Pages. The Active Server Pages will use either the ActiveX component or the java files included with the Professional Edition of Crystal Reports 8.

Is the Professional Edition all that's required?

Regards,
Clay Haller

First of all, don't buy the Professional version. Buy the Developer edition.

If you build a VB application, create Crystal reports, package the whole thing up, and put it on the clients' PCs there are no licensing issues.

The web is a whole different issue. There's a long thread in this forum on licensing. In a nutshell, you have to buy a license for every 5 concurrent users of a Crystal web application. You get 1 5-pack license with the first Developer edition you buy.

Sorry, I meant Developer edition.

I do remember seeing threads on licensing, but I have not found it. I'll try again.

Thanks
Clay
