I am at my wits end and I am hoping someone here might know how to help me. We have been running Crystal Enterprise 8.0 standard for several years with no problems. Recent events unrelated to Crystal forced us to re-install the application and it has not worked right since. First here is an overview of our environment. Crystal Enterprise is installed on a server running the Windows 2000 OS. We are using IIS as the web server. Most reports are written against an Oracle 8 database. Here is the problem I am experiencing when attempting to log on as guest it will allow me in and will allow me to browse the reports (although I thought I recalled in the upper right that it displayed "logged in as guest", I don't see that now). When I select to view the latest instance it pulls up the report but the tree on the left which allows drill down comes up with the message: "Logon credentials for this request are missing. Without these credentials the report is not viewable. Please enter your user name and password. [On Page Server: RPT01]" If I supply the guest account again it will pull up the tree (and use another license) and every time I drill down to another level I get prompted again until all licenses have been used. I have applied all of the latest patches to no avail. I have re-installed the application 3 times to no avail. I have never experienced a single problem in all the other times I have installed this application. Business Objects no longer supports this version so I am basically sitting here dead in the water. Any help and I mean any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That message usually means that the DATABASE logon credentials are incorrect ( not the CE authentication)..try resetting them , or be sure Guest ( and/or Everyone) has ViewOnDemand rights to those reports.

The reports are run off hours to reduce DB overhead and they run to completion successfully. It is prompting for the CE logon to just view the saved results. Then it doesn't seem to retain the logn credentials or even recognize them. Do you have any other thoughts as to what might be causing this?

wolfgang666, who are the Crystal services logging on as? - i.e., if go into the list of Services from the Control Panel > Administrative Tools, then have a look at the Properties of the Crystal Page Server (right click > Properties > Log On tab). The 'Local System' account is the default log on account, but you may need to log on with a domain administrator account. I think this also applies to the Crystal Report Job Server and Crystal Web Component Server.

This has solved a couple of persistent log-on problems for us in the past, it allows the Crystal services access to all resources they may need.

If you are not supplying a username/ password, it uses guest as the login. Check that the guest login is a 'named user'. There is a radiobutton for that in the Crystal Management Console. By default it is a concurrent user and will use up all licences.
