Hi,

I am new here and new to Crystal Enterprise(CE). I just currently handle the old version of Crystal CE 9. I have a few question to ask:

1. Can the new tool, Performance Manager install into CE 9? If yes, where can I find it?

2. How to update CE with service pack? DO I need to backup first?

3. After backup my CE 9, what is the best way to restore back the CE from the backup? (As I know I need to backup database from APS and the input & output file repository folder)

Hopefully, somebody could help to solve my problem!!!
Thanks a lot!!

Crystal Enterprise 9 has not been supported by Business Objects for almost a year, and hasn't been patched for almost two-years.

None of the new XI tools (eg. Performance Manager) can be supported on CE-9, and I don't expect there are any valid Service Packs still on download from the BOBJ site.

Your best plan is to look at a migration to a supported platform - BOE-XI (Release 2 or Release 3). Talk to the sales team at BOBJ to see what your options are.

Most of the new XI tools (eg. Performance Manager) will be extra $$$ for new features which are not part of your legacy version.

Thank you, MJRBIM !!

The only question I have now is:
I understand that Crystal Enterprise 9 has not been quite old version nowadays. However, I do find there is a page to download the service pack for CE at BusinessObjects Download site.

Well, I just wander how to update the CE with service pack(SP)? Assume CE had updated with SP , do I need to update from SP4 to SP6, one by one? Do I need to do backup before I update?

Thank you again and thanks for the migration suggestion!

All current service packs are cumulative (so you don't have to do them step-by-step), but I don't know if they were under CE-9.

Best practice is to try the SP's first on your DEV or TEST environment before applying them to PROD.
