I am unable to install crystal enterprise 9, during the install I am asked for a user and password for sql server. I am signed on the pc (win xp) with admin rights. I have never installed sql on this machine and was hoping to use the install on CE. any help would be greatly appreciated.

CE installs the SQL Server engine as it's database by default.

Try user SA and no password

Is this a networked PC or a stand-alone? I would check to see if SQL Server Enterprise Manager got installed.

If this is a Windows networked PC and you have SQL Server
installed on another node in the network and you have mixed mode or NT Authentication turned on, then you should be able to administer SQL Server from that other node.

Also, you didn't say exactly what happens. What is the error message you get, what does the login window look like.

The PC is a stand-alone with no network connection at present. The message asks for a user name and password for the server.

Where would I look to see if the SQL Server Enterprise Manager got installed and how would I disable? I have a feeling this might be the answer (I hope)!
