Hello. i have uploaded a photo of my cross-tab. let me tell you the fields. the AD AU CO field is the category field. the 36,1,8,9,31 field is an auto number field because i have duplicate records that need to be there and Crystal combines all those into 1. and the number field is the amount field. what i need is for example the AD field, i want the report to show AD and the charges underneath, and the total for AD under that. then move on to AU and then CO. the problem is, right now, the amounts are above the corresponding category. so for example, at the very bottom, where is says RK. the charges are actually those 4 175.55 charges. but because of the way i need it, it puts the charges above, not below.

Does that make sense?

If you need anything else, let me know

Go to the customize style tab within the crosstab expert and check "column totals on top".

that didnt do what i wanted. all that did want put the grand total on the top instead of the bottom. i dont really know how to explain it better....

Perhaps you could show a sample of how the crosstab is currently displaying and then a second sample of how you would like it to display. Please also identify the row, column, and summary fields within the crosstab expert.

ok. the first attachment at the top of this thread is how it is currently. this is how I want it:
March Total

AD $2,096.22 $2,096.22

AU $275.53 $275.53

CO $659.79 $659.79

ME $39.11 $39.11

MI $770.62 $770.62

OF $754.75 $754.75

PH $1,235.56 $1,235.56

PO $134.78 $134.78

So. i want it to only show the Totals. but the problem is, if i supress the other charges, it leaves gaps in the table. it doesnt take out the supressed rows. and i need those auto number rows in there because i have identical charges, and if i dont have the autonumber row, crystal leaves the duplicated out. i attached a photo of what it looks like with all the suppressions i need.

Fields:

The Column is a formula that shows the charges by Month.
my rows are Category Code (Which is the AU, PU, PO) and the AutoID which are the numbers. the Amount field is summarized with a sum. i was wondering if there was some code i can use to say

if supressed, then dont show the rows

Hope that help. let me know if you need any more information

I am unclear on why CR would remove the duplicate values. You don't have "select distinct records" checked, do you? Are you sure your totals change if you remove your row#2?

where do i check to see if i have "select distinct records" checked? and when i remove row 2, it does change the amounts. so all i really need is the cross-tab to look nicer. do you know a way to remove the rows that are supressed? or if you have another idea, let me know.

Go to database->select distinct records and uncheck it. On the customize style tab there is an option to "suppress blank rows", but I don't think it will suppress suppressed rows.

-LB

the select distinct records was no checked and no, the suppress blank rows didnt work

Do you have anything else in the report besides the crosstab? What happens if you add the row #2 field to a suppressed detail section in the main report, and then remove it from the crosstab, leaving only Row#1?
