Crystal 8 compatibility with 8.5 reports

Can crystal 8 open crystal 8.5 reports?

I'm hoping as this is not a full version upgrade that our existing CR8 can open and modify CR8.5 reports.

It can open some of them, as long as you haven't used 8.5 funcitonality.

Note that either can save to CR 7, so if you have one that opens in 8.5 and not 8, have the developer save the 8.5 in 7 format.

Thanks, what kind of extra functionality does 8.5 have over 8. The reports would be basic field information displays. Some basic total and subtotaling calculations and data selection by date and time.
