Does anyone know what the trick is to get formatting changes made via the chart analyzer to be saved with the report. Some changes seem to save others don't. the changes i'm making are..

1) chart lines 1pt instead of 1/4. This should be a configurable option in "report options".

2) Changing the color of the default legends to white on white so they disappear. This way i can put my own on the chart and still have the line color. If the legend is not displayed...you guessed it the lines default back to 1/4 pt thickness.

3) One of my charts has the data lables at an angle. When i set to normal and save report the re-open it reverts back to angled.

4) changing the yellow line to a green line cause the yellow doesn't show up worth crap. Save report, open again reverts back to yellow.

Report has 3 charts. Changes made to first seem to stick. Other 2 charts are a problem. All charts are in report not subreports

Charting is the worst part of Crystal. There really is no help. Instead of charting within Crystal, use Crystal to extract your records and aggregate them. Then export to Excel and chart in Excel. Howard Hammerman,

Actually I figured it out. It you make any changes with the chart analyzer and press save, they will not be saved. However, if you go to the text portion of the report and move a field, any field, and then press save the chart changes will be saved as well. This drove me nuts for a day. Unfortuately, can't use excell as reports are viewed via a web interface.
Tks for your reply.

I have tried that and it will not work. No matter what I do the changes won't save. When I called tech support they told me that you can only change reports a certain number of times. Then no more changes will be retained and you need to delete the chart and start over again. The crazy thing is that even after I deleted the chart and created a new one, changes in chart analyzer still won't stay. I couldn't agree more with HowardHammerman -- charting is the worst part of Crystal. Does anyone know of a different product that could be fired off outside of the Crystal Report displaying the chart (besides Excel)?

I should have also mentioned that if you have your chart in a group header or footer you also have to right click and select "Apply changes to all charts". This only applies the changes to the chart in the same grouping. If you don't do this only the one you changed will be affected.
