Hello,

I was previously using cr 8.5 (I was unable to filter on a memo field) so am giving 2008 a try.

I have a text field called report_text.text_value for patient reports.

In 8.5 I was able to place this memo field on a report. filter by report number and it would display the report

The report begins with the following. (all of which is diplayed in the memo filed of the report in 8.5)

{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fcharset0 Arial;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Arial;}}{\colortbl ;\red0\green0\blue0;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\cf1\f0\fs20 CT scan left lower extremity from the study was done from hip to knee \par

However, when I run this same report in 2008 the only values shown in the memo filed are {\

any ideas why this could be happening.

(I have tried setting the field format to text interpetation to rtf but not luck)

my goal is to be able to filter these reports using
{report_text.text_value}like "*personally informed*" or
{report_text.text_value}like "*telephoned with these*"

Thanks

Which section of the data do you actually want?

Is it only the section reading:

'fs20 CT scan left lower extremity from the study was done from hip to knee'

Let me know.

The part I displayed was only the first few lines as not to include any patient data., but the full report is much longer.

I would need to see the entire text report.

I guess my main concern is that the reaon my
{report_text.text_value} like "*personally informed*" was not working was due to the fact it was not reading the text_value memo field. and was only seeing it as {\

Thanks for clarifying - I haven't used memo fields much but I will attempt to recreate.

Which type of database and connectivity are you using?

Memo fields seems to be one area where the type of connectivity is particularly relevant under CR 2008.

Try setting up a new ODBC Data Soure Connection and use the CR Oracle ODBC Driver 4.10 instead of the Oracle Driver. If you have the CR Oracle ODBC Driver 4.20 don't use this just use the 4.10.

Thanks, I actually used CR Oracle 4.2 for CR 2008. Everything I needed to acomplish now works. Again Thanks everyone for your help
