Cryptographic Services missing / patch install problems

I'm having problems installing patches. Searching points me towards Cryptographic Services and making sure it is started.

The trouble is, my Win 2003 SP1 Server doesn't have this service listed and I can't seem to find out to add it. There's no crypsvc key under HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/services either.

Alternatively, it should be on all 2003 servers and my server has suffered a serious failure. A virus scan didn't show up anything.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I exported the Crypsvc key from a working Server, loaded it into the problem server and rebooted.

Cryptography Services are back and started.
