We are running a custom web app that passes data to Crystal 7 via Perl scripts for report generation.

Often times the Crystal Web Page server (crpgsvr.exe) appears to not be responding. The service does not stop or crash, it just appears to slow to a crawl. The task manager shows the process in the listing, but does not allocate any CPU resources to it.

Our users cannot run reports when it gets in this situation. The only way that we have found to regain printing ability is to stop the service with the kill command (stopping via services does not work) and then restart the service.

Based on the daily volume of report generation (Invoices, Work Orders, etc.) this situation does not happen every day. The frequency has been increasing as of late.

We are running Crystal 7 on WinNT 4 server with a SQL datasource.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Dave,

This is the exact problem I'm running into running Crystal 7 on our Windows NT server. The page server seems to stop running with varying frequency. When I log onto the server to reset the service there's a message box alerting that crpgsvr.exe has thrown an error.

Were you able to resolve your problems? If so, how?

Thanks,
