I started a previous thread to figure out how to create the crosstab with my data. Now that we have auditors asking for some data, I need to figure out how to get it out of my data. Here is the link to the previous thread:

Basically, this is how my data looks:

Betty White Excel "Question 1" "Answer"
Betty White Excel "Question 2" "Answer"
Betty White Excel "Question 3" "Answer"
Bob Barker Excel "Question 1" "Answer"
Bob Barker Excel "Question 2" "Answer"
Bob Barker Excel "Question 3" "Answer"
etc...

I've figured out how to make the crosstab to have the results come out like this:

Q1 Q2 Q3
Betty White 5 4 4
Bob Barker 5 5 4
etc...

What I am needing to do though is to get an average score, by course. They don't care about individual students anymore and want all the students that took that class that month. So this is what they want to see:

Course Q1 Q2 Q3
Excel 4.75 4.63 4.48
Word 4.79 4.71 4.56
Access 4.82 4.79 4.63
etc..

Anyone happen to have an idea on how to do this?

What did you try? You should be able to add the course as a row, question as the column, and average of {@ratings} as your summary field.

I did try that, but I couldn't figure out how to find the average. I couldn't do it as a Running Total and when I tried to write the forumla, I kept getting errors. (I can't remember right now what I tried yesterday.)

Just add {@ratings} as the summary field and choose average as the summmary.
