This may seem mundane, but I need to create a year to date report of running months.i have tried everyway i can think of to get my data to populate automatically in colums without me having to type in the headings myself on the query properties ensuring each month comes up. how can i ensure that each month will appear weather null or not will come up in a report when a)crosstab is only 1 value field only and b)how do you make a field on a report and a lable self populate???? can you? have i gone mad?

You can use a Month table. This can be joined (LEFT JOIN) to your main table.

excuse me for my weariness and daftness but i have been at it all day. How am i going to get this to work i still can not get it to populate each month as new months data comes in. why is it always the easiest of things that seem to get you, or am i overcomplicating it?

Have you tried a pivot table? You can organize by months that way as a built-in function. Good luck!
