I would like to perform the equivalent of an MS Access cross tab query in SQL server 7 where the values of a chosen field become fields of the the result set.

Is this in anyone's bag 'o tricks?

Thanks,

Ed

How many records are you looking at retrieving? I have done this but using Excel to create a pivot table and it is much much more flexible than writing the CT query.

basically you retrieve all of the data from SQL into Microsoft Excel and you can give it to the users and they can write all the cross tabs they want without bothering you or anyone else.

It is really slick!

You can contact me at mfungafat@mms.org
