I have a Cross Tab report which stretches across more than 1 page width. When I put this Cross Tab in a sub-report (Report Footer section of main report) it will not stretch across into the next page. Does anyone know how I can make the Cross Tab in the sub-report continue into the next page on the right hand side? I am using CR XI & MS SQL database.

I think you will have to create the crosstab as your main report, and use the subreport for your current main report info.

I solved the problem by inserting a dummy cross tab that is the same width as the one in the sub-report, into the main report. This stretched the page in the main report, therefore showing the complete cross tab in the sub-report.

Thanks for your reply.

Hmm. I thought that should work and tried it, but it didn't work, so I must have missed something. Can you be more specific about the placement of each--the main report crosstab and the subreport?

I placed the dummy cross tab in Report Footer a of the main report, and the sub-report with the real cross tab in Report Footer b of the main.

Thanks. I had placed the marin report crosstab and subreport in report header sections, and the subreport moved to another page--in which case the subreport did not expand to virtual pages, i.e., the subreport has to be on the same page as the dummy crosstab. When I changed the formatting of the sub by unchecking "keep object together", it moved to the same page and then I could stretch the sub to the virtual pages.

The dummy crosstab and the section it is in cannot be suppressed for this to work, so I think you have to suppress all elements of the dummy crosstab and also uncheck "show grid lines" in customize style->format grid.
