I have two NT workstations. Both Have Fast ethernet NIC card. They are connected using cross cable terminated with RJ-45. I want to see shared folders in each workstation from one another in neighwork neighbourhood. How should I configure both workstations to do this? Somebody please help me.

Have you already setup your card, microsoft network client service and tcp/ip protocol in the net icon on control panel?
On the same window you must begin your session as a network client, and share files and printers. Also, both machines must have the same workgroup.
Once you did that, you must share your resources like h.d.d., files or folders on both machines on the properties of each resource, depending what you want to share.

The easy way is to use the protocol Netbios(Netbeui). No need for anything else like DNS or WINS. NB was designed for peer to peer so it handles name resolution itself unlike TCP/IP.
If you run IP, you will be able to ping but certain functions like sharing and browsing will force the NB to be installed anyways so why bother with IP?
Each in the same workgroup is important as it was stated in the prior post.
