CRM 3 to 4 Upgrade Failure

Has anyone come across this error before? It happens almost instantly when the upgrade process starts:

Action microsoft.crm.setup.server.backupmsifileaction failed. Could not find file 'C:\windows\installer\5d8cfe.msi'
