Hi!
I'm getting this message in syslog.log :
Apr 1 00:16:38 A370005 /usr/lbin/ups_mond[1701]: /usr/lbin/ups_mond: UPS /dev/tty1p0 UNKNOWN status/alarm xf8 - may require repair
Can someone tell me,what's this?I'm using HPUX 10.20.
Thanx Syky

It would appear that you have a problem with the ups attached to your machine. If you don't have a ups, then stop the monitor daemon running.

Yes that's right, I have connected UPS to my server. What should I do than?
thanx Syky

Don't have much experience with machine ups'. Check you configuration is correct and if you still have problems log a call with HP or whoever supports the ups.

Sorry can't be of more help.

upsmond stands for U.P.S. Monitor Daemon.
This means you have a battery protecting the power on the box.

guess #1.
The battery may be bad in the ups. If this is the case, you should be hearing some annoying beeping? or an LED may be flashing RED?

guess #2.
On a lot of hpux boxes, there is a serial cable between the ups and the computer. If it has fallen out, hpux would think there is something wrong with the ups.

Ah! Here's a tip.
Run this from unix: "man 1M ups_mond"
