Hi,

After I have upgraded my IPO to 4.0.7, my credit card machines are not working. Everytime they tried to connect, it failed. Is there anything I have to change? The bank said the analog line speed was to fast for the modem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

The modems negotiate the baud rate it has nothing to do with the Alog extn.

We have fax machines, alog modems and franking machines on our 4.0.7 IP500 with no issues.

You could try another port to be on the safe side but I this they are blagging you.

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Let the modem use the Dial3k1 action instead of the normal Dial action, maybe it helps.

If you are in the UK some clearing houses have had difficulty with modems that connect through switches onto ISDN lines.
I have absolutly no idea why.

HSBC totally washed their hands of this issue but Barclays were able to reconfigure the PDQ machine to use a different number that worked.

it may be worth giving the Bank another call (or moving provider)

As above We have previously sent PDQs onto their own dedicated PSTN line and if need be have a splitter on this to give mutiple connections (Obviously not simaltaniously)

I have IPO 412 with 2 PRIs, our company is in US. All lines are programed to use Dial3K1 to go out.

We have fax machines and analog phones in our company too. Apparently they are all working fine except the credit card machines. When I asked my user to use one of my POTS lines, the credit card machine was working fine. Any clue?

Thank you for all your help.

I figured out where was the problem. We used to have 3.x.x version. Since version 3 does not come with ARS table, our vendor used short codes on the User Restriction applied to all lines. We lost the secondary dial tone if we do not remove those short codes. I have to work on those when I have a chance.

I guess the credit card machine was waiting for the secondary dial tone. Since it did not get the secondary dial tone, it quit processing.

Anyway, I would like to thank all of you for being there to help.

Gallow, I am having the problem with the CC machines connecting to the line for a few seconds and then the line drops, faxes work fine though. We are also in the US with all lines Dial3k1. Not sure what I am missing, specific short code etc.
