Hey All,

I am trying to rename a Win2K Pro machine on our network. When I try to apply it, it asks me for an account that has permission to do this on the domain. I then type in the uname and password that I always use to join computer to the domain, but I keep getting the following error: "Credentials conflict with an existing set of credentials". This is true no matter which domain admin I use. The Uname and Pass have complete access to the Domain. Any ideas?

is this server your DC or is it a child of the forest?

It is not a server. It is a client machine.

Have you tried removing it from the network - changing the name then rejoining it to the domain?
