Creating your own Navigation Bar

I was hoping I could modify the button location in my navigation bar through my Miva admin logon (I don't have OpenUI) and move the checkout button closer to the others.

I'm still pretty new at this, but from what I've understood so far, you can't make adjustments to the spacing of the navigation bar without Miva software of OpenUI (correct me if I'm wrong). I was also hoping to remove the product list link altogether.

Given those wants, I figured it might work best if I created my own navigation bar however I can't seem to find the links for some of the buttons. The store links names listed in Miva Admin appear to be different than the ones currently on the nav bar. I'm particular concerned with the "Session_ID" that appears in some of the nav bar links and I don't want to screw something up by guessing what links to put in.

Site Links

Store Front: Search: Product List:Basket Contents:Order Form: Customer Login:Customer Add Form: Affiliate Login: Affiliate Add Form:

Does anyone know if this information is somehow part of what I need or if what I'm looking for is typically found either in the Miva Admin or on the site's FTP server?

The cookie (session ID) needs to remain with the customer as they shop in order to keep track of the order.
I'm not sure if what you want to do can be done without OpenUI.
Are you having any luck at all? I'd be interested to know how far you've gotten with this.

Hi Jim,

Unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that with just Miva Merchant 4.22, I couldn't risk messing up those links. I'm leaning towards gettting OpenUI, but I'm not sure what version would work best for me or how much more control it would give me with the appearance of my site, for example whether or not I could take something like the nav bar and create a cooler looking "my store" type graphic with the links. I'm pretty bored with the layout of regular Miva.

Does anyone have any suggestions/advice?
