Hey all,

I have built a little web based invoicing system, most aspects work fine except for when I want to display/print out the completed invoice for customer.

I would like the display_invoice.php page/script to have Client details, Business details at the top of each page and a invoice total, bank details, reminder messages etc to be at the bottom of each page, and just have the middle content change as per items bought.

eg
Business Logo Business details

Client Details Ship TO Address

Item1 bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 2 bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 3 Bought Description Amount Price Total

Business Bank Details Invoice Total

The problem I am having is how can I have the page to be formatted to have top part and bottom part repeated/static on every page and if the number items purchased reaches the bottom part a new page is created with a top part left over middle part and bottom.

eg
Page 1
Business Logo Business details

Client Details Ship TO Address

Item1 bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 2 bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 3 Bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 4 Bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 5 Bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 6 Bought Description Amount Price Total

Business Bank Details Invoice Total

Page 2
Business Logo Business details

Client Details Ship TO Address

Item7 bought Description Amount Price Total
Item 8 bought Description Amount Price Total

Business Bank Details Invoice Total

How is this normally achieved as you see in packages such as MYOB etc, is it using CSS or XML, any help would be gratefully appreciated

Cheers

Brad

Hope I get this right.
You can use passing variables thechnique so it will keep top part's information and have the bottom part's information changes.
There are lots of way to do this. You can use session variables to hold some information.
GOod luck

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for your reply.

What I am trying to do is create a template thingy to the point of if the amount of items purchased is greater then can be displayed on one page, display whatt can be on one page in the designated area, and create another page with Headings, display remander items in designated area and then totals at bottom.

cheers
