System: IP Office 500v1
Firmware: 6.0r18

On the old firmware (4.2), it was possible to make a "non-ringing" (x=:99) call appearance button on a users phone. (I did this to fix an issue related to call "transfers".) The current firmware that we are running (6.0) doesn't seem to allow me to do this. I hope that I'm just overlooking the solution to my problem and that someone here will point to the proper option.

Thanks.

What transfer issue are you trying to fix/what do you want to achieve by doing this ?

As the riddler says, what are you trying to accomplish?

And, button programming still functions the same, you can program a call appearance to be delayed or no ring....

The equivalent setting is setting the button'd Ring Delay to No Ring. So the option is still there, explaining the 'issue relating to call transfers' would help.

From our experience, when a user had both lines with calls on them, they were no longer able to transfer one of the calls away.

Several solutions were considered but most were rejected because the behavior of having both lines full was too ingrained in some departments to be readily fixed and the managers strongly opposed hanging up on anyone. (Don't make long term calls on the second line if you have the first line full. Hang up on someone if you need to transfer.)

With this, we have an additional line per phone that will not ring and thus they are less likely to tie it up. (And if they do, that's their problem. I can't hold their hands.)

PS. Truth be told, I'm actually trying to remember what the :99 does... I did this almost a year ago and have forgotten what the code stands for.

You could just have three appearence keys and reserve the last, achieves the same thing :)

Wot he said ^^^^ and is what we do ... v4.2 reserve_last_ca= in source numbers init?
Or V7 - Telephony/Multi-Line Options - tick box for Reserve Last CA.

Haven't got 6!

Ok, I've found on the "Telephony/Multi-line Options" page the option for "Reserve Last CA" in each User account. Which I've configured for some of our users, in addition to the "no ring" (which is superfluous). I also see the "Source Numbers" page for each user.

It doesn't appear that you can set a global or "group" (read: "User Rights") option for "Reserve Last CA" in Firmware version 6. Does that change with Firmware version 7?
