Does anybody knows how could I create my own dialup connection without using the installed dialup? I mean, I don't want to connect to the Internet using the dialup connection in the windows. What I want is to create an application in Visual Basic which will have the same functions like the Dial Up. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks a lot.

not sure exactly what your wanting to do here but ill give it a shot...

if you want to connect over a lan try the winsock control,

if you want to go an api route you could check out the calls in "wininet.dll" i think theres some kind of dialup wotsit in there.

hope i read the q correct... enjoy!! I like doing it the hard way! OK!

roswell,

It depends on quite what you want to do,

but (I think) do a very good & free set of active X controls, one of which encompasses Dial up capabilities. Their winsock is far superior to MS IMHO...

Good luck & Happy New Year

Matt

What I want to do is to create a program in Visual Basic which is like the Dial Up Connection. I want to connect to the internet through visual basic. What I found out is I can use RAS (Remote Access Service) but its kinda complicated. Anyway thanks for your answers. If you have any better ideas it's most welcome.
