Creating MS Word Doc from FM and linking to current record

I would like to create a button/script on a FM form that would open MS Word, type in some notes, close Word, and link it to the current record.

Clicking on the button in the future would retrieve the note for editing or review.

FM 8 Pro Advanced; OS 10.4.7; Word 2004 for Mac

Why do you want to go outside FileMaker to make your notes, and then link those notes back to FileMaker ?

Why not staying in FileMaker for the notes where you can edit, link, change, add or whatever you want/need to do to notes ?

The client wants to use the formatting options in Word.

You have the same (nearly) formatting options in FileMaker.
With a script the user can have access to all the functions.

Developing the outgoig, return and attachment will work in the beginning, but will need much more overhead in the long run.

Which formatting options do you need ?
