Creating hyperlink in Word 97 gives errors...

Hi.. I'm trying to create a hyperlink in a Word 97 document. When I go to try and create it, I click the "ok" button after filling everything in and then I get a "Winword.exe has generated errors and will be closed my Windows". Then it shuts Word down. what's the deal?? Any ideas?

Try the easy fix first. Do a FIND for a file called normal.dot
When found, rename it to normal.old
Restart Word (it'll recreate normal.dot)
Does the behavior persist?

Nope.. that didn't work. Any other ideas?

Hmmm...I'd hoped for the easy out. This is one of those things that can be a lot of different things, if you know what I mean.

Ok nothing has helped... i've tried EVERYTHING! I'm at the end of my ropes! Any other ideas? I really dont want to reload this laptop...
