Hi all,

I have been working on an access 2003 application which is almost ready for deployment. I have been testing the deployment up to now on two virtual machines with access 2003 and 2007 already installed.

In the msi package, I am also deploying the runtime.

Will be grateful if those two questions can be answered:

1. Is there a way to create the package in such a way so that it checks first if a version of access is installed before installing the runtime? This is because the runtime will installed irrespective of the version of access which was already running on the desktop

2. Does anyone know if installing the 2003 runtime on a desktop running a full version of access 2007 may eventually caused issues?

Might be better for me to use access 2007 developer extensions, but I will have to do some testing with this first and getting a virtual machine ready for this purpose.

Thanks a lot
babou

I think the recommended approach is two deployment packages. One if the person has Access already installed and one if not.
