What I was actually trying to do is find a way to return only the top 6 part numbers grouped by task number. It was suggested that I create a form with a counter that resets everytime the task number changes, running the entire table through this form. This would allow me to untilize this counter field to retrieve the top 6 part numbers per task number.

Would appreciate any help with how to create counter and reset it with every task number change.

Thanks !

Buil a Select Query and make it the Form Record Source
Use the Select Top .. Sintax.
