Creating a partition in unallocated space

Good evening all...I have 2GB of unused space which is unallocated. I want to used this free space, so I try to set up a partition, all went well until I reach the warning that I must change my Boot.ini file.. What do I change in my boot.ini file so my pc can understand there is a new partition. I'm not a computer expert so please talk down to my level.
I only have one hard drive C:
CD drive D:
Floppy drive A:
Below is a copy of my boot.ini file

If you read the top-left text, it does say:
"Technical Work Forums For Computer PROFESSIONALS"

So, it is a bit difficult for all of us here to talk down at your level. The things you are doing require some knowledge, but one non-technical in particular: giving all details!
What I mean is, you do not mention HOW you were setting up that partition.
If you do this from within Disk Management in 2000, it will modify that itself, so I don't see where that request to manually change it yourself comes from.

What did you do? How did you set it up? What type of partition did you create Primary or Logical? What program did you use to make the partition?

It all started when I try to setup win2000 pro over win98.Win2000 didn't setup over win98 it created a partition, where it set it self up
The problem was that after the installation was finish I ran out of memory. I should say, I coverted my fat drive to ntfs drive.
I uninstalled win2000 reformated my hard drive, but I can't format a ntfs drive after it was coverted. I can't get into that partition area, it's dead space. so I try Fdisk, and all the options. Then reinstlled win98 but not in that partition area. I used my drive c: area so I could have more free memory. Then I installed win2000 pro over win98. But my partition was created the first time I instlled win2000. So that how I got that partition...
I hope you can understand what I did and why I have this free space of 2GB in an unallocted area..
Does this help you out, to figure out why I get the message, I need to change my boot.ini file .......

Hum, yes, I understand.
When you use FDISK, you should remove the NON-DOS partition, that is the NTFS.
When you install 98, it will not see that NTFS, so it takes whatever it can 'see', and that was NOT the C: drive, 98 made it C: because it did not see the real one.
So, the big mistake you made was not to remove the NTFS first.
If at all possible, I would highly recommend you reinstall everything, but remove ALL partitions FIRST !
If you want 2000, install 2000, not 98 (unless the 2000 is an upgrade), but even then, install it anyway, it will ask for he 98 CD. Put it in, and 2000 setup will continue.

I should of memtion that my win98 program is a recovery & diagnostic disk. My win200o will not started up from dos so it must be an updated program only.
I try to remove the partition after I formated my hard drive, but since it has been converted to an ntfs drive, and the rest of my free space was still a fat32 drive, dos format command will not format that area. Now I converted the fat32 space into a ntfs drive, now my retire hard drive is ntfs but still I can't convert that unused area nor can I get into the area of my hard drive...
The only way to solve my problem is to rewrite my boot.ini file. Does anyone know how....thank you again

Thanx Marcs41 and AP81,

I don't know what I did or how I did it, but I did it.
That unused space is now called drive E:, I can open it and also store data files....

Again thanks your all your time and effort, in trying to help me out....
