(I posted this in the wrong forum earlier.)

I'm trying to make a border around my page (0.5 inches around.)

When I choose the rectangle tool (the one without the "x" in it), I make my rectangle surrounding the page, and my content "vanishes."

There are little red boxes in my border, and it looks like there may be two rectangles. But I just want my content back.

How do I make a "border" without making a "rectangle?

Ah, NOW I find that the file is "corrupted."

What does that mean? How can I fix it?

I did the "send it back" thing, and my "rectangle" (not border) is still "opaque." (The content still vanishes.)

I think I played around with it for so long that I confused the program, or something, maybe.

Select the border.
under Window>Type and Tables>Text Warp then
click on the picture on the far left, on e one with the line going through the square. This will turn your "run-a-round" off, just like in quark.

This will fix your problem

Thank you.
I will give that a try when my flash drive, a computer (with InDesign), and my fingers are at the same place at the same time.

I will let you know how that turns out.
