Creating a folder in layers palette

Hello, is there a way to create a folder in the layers palette that I can stick several layers into as a set or a group? There is a button in Photoshop for this, but I can't find it in Illustrator CS. I need badly to reduce some clutter in one of my projects.

yes there is photoshop calls it a layer set and you get one by clicking the folder icon(create new layer set) at the bottom of the layers palette,or in the (>) menu select new layer set; then drag the layers into it, if you have things clipped or linked you still have to drag them in indivually and relink or clip them as you had them before.

The only thing at the bottom of the layers palette (CS anyway) that remotely resembles this function is the "create new sublayer" button. This will basically achieve the same thing, but it does not show a folder. As far as I can see, there is no "select new layer set" in Illustrator. Am I wrong?

In CS2 you can select objects and then use "Collect in New Layer" from the flyout menu to make a new layer that holds those objects. That seems to be the closest answer if I am reading the question correctly.
