Hopefully someone here on this forum can help us. We want to be able to transfer calls to a traveling reps cell phone from our Nortel MICS. I read somewhere where this was possible by creating his cell phone number as an extension on the MICS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance !!

You can't create his cell number as an extension, but you can forward an extension to his cell phone if you have software release 4.1 or higher.
Another option is to create a mailbox and enable Outbound Transfer. This could allow direct calls to the mailbox. The mailbox greeting would instruct callers to press 7 to reach the rep on his cell phone.

or if it's an incoming call you want to transfer, just press transfer, dial 9 and the number.

Do you have POTS lines? If so, the volume will be lower than normal. If you have a PRI, your golden.

The outbound call transfer can be set to use link transfer on analog lines to establish the connection, which is lossless

This feature was introduced in V4.1 (maybe even 4.0) voicemail.

Note that your lines need to support a link transfer for this to work.

Preceed the called number with a '#' sign and, as instructed have the VM wmessage inastruct the caller to dial '7' during the announcement.

A good way too is to assign an external autodial button with the rep's cell number on it. Press transfer and the autodial button then hang up to send callers to the rep's cell phone. Of course redirect must be set to yes in Terminals and Sets.
