hmm, sorry about that. It previewed ok. I'll try typing it out again:
Hello, a few collegues and I are having some troubles with Master Pages, and am wondering if someone here can help. We made master 2 page spreads for various depts. in our magazine (EVENTS, RESOURCE DIRECTORY, etc.). We laid out some parts of the mag by using one page from one master and another page from another master, for example we dragged a left side EVENTS master page onto a left page that might be facing, say, a right hand page from a RESOURCE DIRECTORY (RD) MASTER.
They looked fine on screen, but when we printed them out, we would get tiny bits of the left side RD master showing up on the left hand EVENTS page, and vice versa, ie. The left hand EVENTS page would print out fine EXCEPT that there'd be a few graphics from the RD master printing out on it as well, in the position it would appear if that had been a left hand RD page.
Our conclusion was that the master spreads were having separation anxiety and trying to bring bits of their partner pages with them. So, in the end, we re-made those masters as single pages, and re-applyed them, and that seemed to work.
So I guess what we'd like to know is that if our diagnosis was correct, and if it's a bug or if we mad a mistake setting up the template that way.
Make sure none of the elements on the master speads overlap onto the other page, otherwise those elements will be treated as being part of the master which it overlaps onto.
If that made sense?
